Fjord and Mountain view
Enjoy a memorable stay in this beautiful traditional Icelandic timber house, set in peaceful surroundings by the shore at the foot of Mt. Hafnarfjall in West Iceland. The house offers magnificent views of the mountains, the fjord, and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
With 100 m² of living space, the Black House accommodates up to four guests. The ground floor features a main bedroom with a double bed, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a spacious bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower. Upstairs in the loft, there is a bedroom with two single beds and a separate TV area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essential appliances, cookware, and tableware, as well as spices, cooking oil, flour, and other basic ingredients for preparing meals.
The Black House is located in a peaceful setting just 5 km from the town of Borgarnes and approximately 70 km from Reykjavík, Iceland’s capital. It is an excellent base for exploring the many attractions of West Iceland, including Snæfellsjökull National Park, Mt. Kirkjufell, Hraunfossar waterfalls, and the beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
With very little light pollution in the area, the Black House is also a wonderful place to watch the Northern Lights. Of course, seeing them requires a little luck, clear skies, and favourable solar activity.
